Importance of the Isolation Panel in Hospitals
An Isolated System can save countless lives in hospitals as it prevents the risk of electrocution during a procedure in an operating room and critical areas.
Statistical studies conducted worldwide have shown that deaths from electric shock in operating rooms are very frequent, reaching alarming levels.
It is of vital importance that there is constant communication between the medical staff, the maintenance department, and biomedical engineering. The proper functioning of the isolation system depends on the medical staff reporting promptly when any of the indicators has triggered the alarm signal.

Official Mexican Standard for the Health Sector
The official standards NOM-001-SEDE-2012 and NOM-016-SSA3-2012 establish that within the minimum infrastructure and equipment characteristics of hospitals, the following must be included:
- Isolated power systems in Critical Care Areas such as: Intensive Care (similar areas in which users (Patients) are subject to invasive procedures and connected to medical equipment via hospital-grade outlets).
- Isolated power systems must be tested every 6 months and/or every time the alarm sounds and the red light turns on, to ensure they remain in proper working condition.
- Maintain a historical record of the operation of equipment and facilities in control logs.
